Answer the following questions:
1. Chose one character who struggles with addictive issues and describe their problem, how it impacts their lives and the lives of those around them.
2. What roles do trauma, racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, or other social conditions play in leading to the addictive/destructive behaviors? Is the societal response (micro, mezzo, macro) to the individual or group's behaviors surrounding their addictions is helpful or not, and what might we change to make it more helpful?
3. Research an intervention that may be helpful as a treatment option or a prevention option for the character/group that you are profiling. How might it help? What are its limitations? If you were a practitioner working with this person, how might you approach your work with them? Please describe your method of intervention and why you think it may be beneficial. Your paper should be 5 to 7 pages not including source page or cover page, double spaced, using Times New Roman 12 font only, with one inch margins. - Please submit on Turn It In before the start time of our final class.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to include how issues of gender, class, geography, culture, oppression, economic climate, and other macro issues may have impact on what you’ve been discussing.
